Soviet Superwoman vs Schadenfreude, page 1

Description

This is just from one of my notebooks, where I was sketching out a series of story pages to start getting back into practice.  Not with writing or drawing the pages (though I need that practice as well) but the digital side of it, working with Photoshop and Illustrator to add text and panels and shading and eventually colors.  I did not get past the stage where I just do some quick layouts, so I decided to just ink the layouts and work with that.  The end result is what you see above.  There's no particular background to the story, I just needed something to work with.  The only change is that the villain was originally going to be Genocide, but I figured to try my hand at Schadenfreude instead (and not because it is an easier name to spell).  The first panel may be a bit confusing, but since it was a sketch page I was just doing a detail of the figure, which is why there is a close-up seemingly hovering over the fallen SSW.

I have a few more pages but since they're just sketches they're not terribly coherent.  But it will be good practice nonetheless so I will work through them and add them as I do so.  I will be on vacation for two weeks but am taking one of my drawing tables to the home in Ohio so that I can spend some time drawing as I relax.  Or drawing in order to relax.  Or something.  It should be a good opportunity to see how life will shape up later this year.

The Soviet Superwoman and her angry friend Schadenfreude belong to the talented and tireless :iconsoviet-superwoman:, who is no doubt working on her second or third novel as we speak.

Oh wow this is AMAZING! I am absolutely giddy with it, thank you so much both for using my characters as inspiration but for the kind words. Your layouts look fantastic and if this was in a published comic no doubt in would catch a lot of attention. :wow:
